The Fightin' Bob Fund

Within the Medical Advancement area of giving, The Andermax Foundation has designated a special featured fund that focuses on supporting research for better cancer diagnostics and finding a cure for cancer of all types.

The Fightin' Bob Fund is named after Bob Pavlicin, who died of colon cancer at age 38. The late husband of the Foundation's founder, Bob is the inspiration behind the creation of The Andermax Foundation.

Bob climbed to the top of more than 30 mountains. A loving husband and dad, Bob had a great sense of humor, a strong work ethic, and lived each day fully. His motto was carpe diem.

Fightin' Bob was Bob's nickname in the United States Marine Corps. Captain Pavlicin served in many overseas assignments, including Operation Provide Comfort providing relief for the Kurdish refugees in Northern Iraq and Operation Restore Hope in Somalia. The nickname also fits his positive, fighting attitude when he was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage four colon cancer in October 2000. Despite his participation in clinical trials and the best treatment available, Bob died in February 2003 just after his 38th birthday.

The Fightin' Bob Fund honors every person who has been touched by cancer.
